Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 2.69%

Nifty IT index closed up 2.69% at 35690.05 today. The index is down 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Infosys Ltd gained 3.90%, Mphasis Ltd added 3.39% and Coforge Ltd rose 3.37%. The Nifty IT index is down 14.00% over last one year compared to the 1.42% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index is down 1.98% and Nifty FMCG index added 1.39% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.28% to close at 25050.55 while the SENSEX added 0.26% to close at 81857.84 today.
