Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 3.78%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 3.78% at 6521.3 today. The index has lost 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Bank jumped 10.62%, Canara Bank added 6.84% and Bank of Baroda rose 4.34%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 33.00% over last one year compared to the 27.78% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 2.54% and Nifty Media index gained 1.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.65% to close at 24339.15 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.76% to close at 80005.04 today.
