India House Price Index climbs in Q1

The All India House Price Index (HPI) rose by 1.1 percent in April-June FY27 compared to the previous quarter, influenced mainly by cities like Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram, according to RBI data released on Monday. The HPI also showed an annual growth of 3.6 percent in Q1:2026-27, the same as the previous year, with contributions from Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram. The RBI compiles the HPI quarterly using transaction-level data from registration authorities.
