India Forex kitty surges

India's foreign exchange reserves increased by $6.12 billion to reach $682.35 billion for the week ending July 24, 2026, as reported by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This rise follows a $1.08 billion increase the previous week, when reserves were $676.24 billion. The main contributor was a $4.87 billion rise in foreign currency assets (FCAs), which reached $555.93 billion. Gold reserves also grew by $1.31 billion to $103.06 billion, but Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) fell by $53 million to $18.62 billion, and India's IMF reserve position decreased by $11 million to $4.75 billion.
